Touching the Earth: mindfulness, art and ritual in nature

The scent of autumn is in the air, the leaves are beginning to turn, and the September equinox is approaching. Join me in Cotteridge Park for a spacious, reflective morning to honour the season, and connect more deeply with both ourselves and the natural world. Through guided mindfulness practices and simple nature-based ritual, we will have the opportunity to spend time both alone and together with others, and honour the beauty of this precious earth.

We will meet whatever the weather, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for exploring outdoors. Please bring something waterproof to sit on (which can be as simple as a plastic carrier bag) and a folding chair if this is more comfortable for you than a log. Hot drinks will be provided but please bring your own mug so that we can avoid the use of disposable cups. Snacks to share are very welcome.

This Touching the Earth gathering is the third in a series of four in 2018, which will conclude on Sunday 30th December, when we meet again to mark the turning of the year.

The event is freely offered, in partnership with Friends of Cotteridge Park, but there will be an opportunity to make a donation on the day if you would like to. The gathering is intended for adults only, but please do get in touch if you would be interested in a similar event for children and families.

Please arrive by 9.45am and gather in the Franklin Road car park, for a 10am start in the park.

I look forward to welcoming you.
